New approaches are emerging for new problems and so much can be learnt and shared across agencies in the strive to be more effective regulators to the communities they serve.

With so much innovation occurring within the industries being regulated, regulators have to learn to constantly innovate and work collaboratively to detect non-compliance and educate their regulated communities.

There are four main drivers for regulators today operating in a complex and ever-changing environment:

  • Realise the benefits of collaboration and stakeholder engagement
  • Maximise technology and digital innovation to improve regulatory outcomes
  • Understand the role of culture and governance of regulated organisations
  • Apply innovative approaches that respond to new regulatory challenges

The Innovating for Better Regulatory Outcomes conference will share strategies for regulating and responding to new technologies and will demonstrate the ways in which collaboration, stakeholder engagement and co-design can be used to improve regulatory outcomes.
