The Australian Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC) work to drive growth and meet national skills needs through equity measures.

The 3.1% wage rise in the June quarter for public servants was the highest for the sector since March 2013, as enterprise bargaining agreements kicked in.

Ben Morton has defended linking APS pay rises to the private sector, claiming the sector’s union is ‘out of step with its own membership’ on the issue.  

Private-sector wages rose 2.4% over the past 12 months, with the public sector trailing behind at 1.7%, reflecting tight caps imposed on public service salaries.
